PORTER ROBINSON & ZEDD REVIEW @ PACHA NYC

This past friday Pacha was packed with the most attractive EDM fans New York City has to offer all coming out for one of the most anticipated tours of the season, The Poseidon Tour featuring Zedd and Porter Robinson playing a back to back set.  These two young producers are quickly making their name known throughout the EDM world for a good reason.  After Nick Thayer quickly warmed up the crowd, the two djs quickly took their spot in the booth ready to party.

Zedd and Porter played a back to back set in a way that is very rare to see, spinning some of the classics that you would expect, but also by spinning some songs that you wouldn't.  Not only did they drop crowd favorites of their own like "Stars Come Out" and "Shave It Up" from Zedd and Porter classics like "Seconds" and "Unison" but dropped other crowd favorites such as Axwell's "In My Mind" and Avicii's "Sillhouettes".  The two also dropped songs that nobody was expecting to hear including a track by Michael Woods, "VMS".  The boys definately knew how to throw a party.

Of course the night had various highlights throughout their set.  Who can forget the moment when you first heard Porter's track "Language" or Zedd's track "Spectrum".  These two tracks have become played by almost every producer and dj around right now.  The energy surrounding these tracks when they were dropped was almost unparalleled.  Looking around you could see the smiles that these tracks brought to everybody's face, and even the tears that came from the music as well.

One great part about Pacha is that in addition to the legends that they have on the main floor, they also have the basement which has a reputation of its own.  If you got there early enough you heard the styles of Vic Alarm who completely blew away everybody that was in the basement at the time.  Vic is no stranger to the Pacha basement or NYC clubs.  Dropping incredible mashups throughout the night, he is one dj that I'm sure will soon be a legend playing the main floor by himself.

The dj that followed Vic also blew away the dance floor.  Dropping an amazing tech set, Vaega offered a different style of music than the main floor, proving the point that Pacha really does have something to offer for every kind of music taste.  Vaega's style not only had everybody in the basement dancing, but had an energy surrounding his music similar to the energy upstairs.  Be sure to check out his set from the night here: http://soundcloud.com/vaega/pacha-10-5-set.

We would like to thank Pacha NYC for an amazing night.  We would also like to thank Michael Elezovic for the photos (All credit goes to him), and of course all of the djs that played and made the party as amazing as it was.
